This cappuccino was lovingly made at Lili et Oli

The arrival of the Starbucks on the block has signaled that the gentrification process of this once working-class neighbourhood is nearly complete, and a new Java U is even on its way to take the place of one of the last green-awninged antique shops. I don’t wish harm on Starbucks or Java – live and let live – but I’m glad that discerning lovers of coffee and local business still come to Lili et Oli.

Bonus: There’s a giant chocolate-coloured poodle sprawled on the floor.

Ultra bonus: Bob Marley’s “Chant Down Babylon” is the music right now.
